Ask My Tech Guy ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

• Send a project inquiry — your name, email address, workflow or problem, and any optional phone number, business or website, and desired outcome you provide.
• Sign up for our email list — email address only.
• Visit the site from a campaign or referral source — landing-page path, referrer, and allowlisted campaign labels when available. Query strings and URL fragments are not retained.

We do not collect payment information directly. We do not use tracking cookies or behavioral advertising.

How We Use Your Information

• To respond to your inquiry and arrange a conversation
• To contact you by email or at an optional phone number you provide
• Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
• To deliver the free guide you requested via email
• To send occasional tips and updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To understand which pages, posts, and traffic sources are leading to bookings and guide requests

Where Your Data Is Stored

• Project inquiries — delivered through Resend to our business email inbox. Inquiry text is not stored in website analytics or Cloudflare KV.
• Abuse prevention — short-lived, pseudonymous request counters are stored in Cloudflare KV for up to one hour. These do not contain inquiry text or raw IP addresses.
• Legacy booking records — stored in Cloudflare KV (encrypted at rest) and in our iCloud calendar for scheduling purposes.
• Subscriber records and unsubscribe preferences — stored in Cloudflare KV so we can honor one-click unsubscribe requests.
• Email delivery — handled by Resend, a transactional email provider.
• Website hosting — Cloudflare Pages.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Project inquiries remain in our business mailbox so we can respond and continue the conversation; you may request deletion. Legacy booking records are retained for 90 days. First-party conversion events are retained for up to 180 days. Email list subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the one-click link in any email we send

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This tool does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites. We also store first-party conversion events such as guide requests and bookings, along with landing-page paths, referrers, allowlisted campaign labels, and pseudonymous visitor or session identifiers stored in browser local storage or session storage. Query strings and URL fragments are removed before these first-party events are stored.

YouTube and Google API Services

We use an internal publishing tool that uploads our own videos to our own YouTube channel (@AskMyTechGuy) using YouTube API Services. By using YouTube API Services, this tool is bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

• Whose data it touches — only our own. The tool authenticates with our own Google account and acts on our own channel. It does not access, collect, store, or share any YouTube user data belonging to visitors, clients, or any third party.
• What it stores — Google OAuth credentials (tokens) for our account and metadata about our own uploads (titles, descriptions, video IDs), kept locally on our equipment. Tokens are never shared with third parties.
• Revoking access — access granted to the tool can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
